Distilleries

Whether you're fond of the classic afternoon G&T or a buttery single malt in the wee hours, you'll find plenty of distilled delights in Victoria, which is hitting its straps as a genuine whiskey and gin destination.

Small batches, big ideas

Wend your way across the state sampling the unique creations of small batch producers and artisanal distillers as you go. Find reinvented classics and gins and whiskeys inspired by the diverse Victorian landscapes. Pop into a 'distillery door' to taste the latest batch, take a tour, or sign up for a masterclass to delve deeper into the craft.

The long and winding road

Start your spirit-ual journey with single malt whisky at Starward Distillery in Port Melbourne or pop into the Little Lon Distilling Co., which is housed in a historic city laneway.

Travel west down the Great Ocean Road to enjoy lunch and tasting at the Timboon Railway Shed Distillery. Behold the botanicals of bespoke and small-batch gins at Four Pillars in Healesville, which is fast becoming a household name.

Take in Kilderkin Distillery in Ballarat, Reed and Co. in Bright, or head south to Bass and Flinders Distillery on the Mornington Peninsula and Gippsland's Loch Brewery & Distillery. Looking for new flavours? Try quinoa vodka and other experimental spirits at Alchemy Distillers or the 'healing liqueurs' at Herbal Lore in Daylesford. Whatever your tipple, Victoria's new breed of distilleries has a flight for you.
