Snowy River Cycling offers this self guided day ride, allowing you to explore the farmlands and forest that surround the Snowy River as it nears the sea.
All the ride routes start and finish in Orbost in Far East Gippsland.
The tour includes a helmet, bike equipped with rack and bag, basic tools, drink bottle holder, route maps and information.
Choose a ride to suit you: from a flat leisurely pedal beside the river, to an energetic 45 km loop that includes river, farmland and a section of the East Gippsland Rail Trail.
Most of the routes are along quiet, sealed country roads with very little traffic.
The bike fleet includes adults bikes in a range of sizes, ladies style bikes, children's bikes, child seats and 'tag along' bike which attaches to an adults bike.
If you would like to ride out along the Rail Trail, without having to ride back, they can offer a pick up service along the trail to bring you back to Orbost.
Please call ahead if possibly to ensure they have bikes available on the day you wish to ride.

Snowy River Cycling offers both self guided, and guided cycling tours in Eastern Victoria suited to both experienced and less frequent bike riders.
The East Gippsland Rail Trail traverses the region, offering superb cycling following a former railway line through forests and farmland for nearly 100 kilometres from Bairnsdale to Orbost, linking the Gippsland Lakes with the Snowy River.
Snowy River Cycling Self Guided Rail Trail tours allow you to explore the area at your own time and pace. Snowy River Cycling will tailor a journey for you of two to four days or more, providing you with a bike, helmet and day bag, book your accommodation, transfer your luggage and arrange your return transport, as well as providing maps and information to make your journey more enjoyable.
We can also set you up with bike and maps for a day ride in either Orbost or Bairnsdale, providing bikes, helmets and maps for a days riding.
Guided tours take you through the more remote places in the region, on tours of up to six days that may explore from high Alpine meadows to a wild coastline, or follow quiet back roads along peaceful rivers.
Map pins are available via the tab key in a list after the map.
