Snow season 2020 closures
Ski fields and alpine resorts have closed to visitors during Stage 3 Stay at Home coronavirus restrictions across regional Victoria. Restrictions remain in place until 13 September 2020. You can stay in touch with the latest advice on Victoria’s travel restrictions and how they affect the ski slopes this season through the DHHS website.
Gear up and get active this winter at Falls Creek, Victoria's largest alpine resort and the spiritual home of cross country skiing. A treasure trove for thrill seekers, Falls Creek boasts true ski-in/ski-out accommodation, 65 kilometres of free cross-country trails, downhill skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, and terrain parks with some of the best rails and jumps around.
Falls Creek is also the official training base for the Australian national cross-country team and hosts the annual Kangaroo Hoppet, the largest snow sport event in the southern hemisphere.
A helping hand
Need a hand getting off the starting blocks or just want to take your skills to the next level? Choose from a variety of adult, child or advanced lessons at the Snowsports School. Snowclub 4 Kids runs classes for children three to five, while the Junior Programs cater for six to 14 year olds.
Settle into your choice of digs, from cosy lodge-style accommodation and budget dorm options to five-star luxury penthouse apartments and spa suites. With over 5,000 beds available in the village, there's something to suit everyone's taste and budget.
Relax after an exhilarating day in the snow with a beer on the deck, a hot dinner at one of the local cafes and restaurants, or hit the day spa for a bit of pampering. See the mountain in a different light on a snow grooming tour at night or just stock up on supplies at the local supermarket and bottle shop and enjoy an indulgent night in.
All in the family
There's no shortage of activities to keep the kids entertained all winter long. Get competitive over a game of snow bocce, build the perfect snowman, or catch the night show spectacular on Thursday nights for fireworks, snowboarding displays and an appearance by Pete the Snow Dragon. For more fun in the snow, sign up for night skiing on Wombats Ramble, snow biking, tubing or even a mile high lunch on the mountain.
