Get a taste for Victoria's top drops on a journey through its best wine-growing regions.

With more than 800 wineries and 600 cellar doors across five outstanding wine regions, Victoria has the perfect grape style to suit every palate.

Nestled on Melbourne's doorstep, picturesque favourite Yarra Valley has a cool-climate that produces award-winning chardonnay, pinot noir, shiraz and cabernet sauvignon.

Encompassing the Bellarine and Mornington Peninsulas, and snaking along the state's dramatic southern coastline, the Pinot Coast perfectly pairs exceptional cool-climate pinot noir with local seafood, salt air and artisan produce.

A little north and inland from Melbourne, Victora's Shiraz Central is the diversely rugged, warm heart of the state, where pioneering winemakers create cool-spiced shiraz for you to sip in classic bush settings.

Northeasterly, King Valley Prosecco Road, three hours from Melbourne, is where things get bubbly. Italian influence plays its hand in the gorgeous valley's sparkling prosecco and delightful European-style cuisine.

Sweetening an already sweet deal, the tiny pocket of Rutherglen along the state's northern border has a big reputation for its fortified muscat wines and glorious rural setting.

Whether you have a favourite drop to seek out or want to try them all, make sure to allow enough time for wine time in Victoria.
