Inspired and created by the late Stuart Rattle, Musk Studio is a unique and fascinating cottage that has been reborn to become a wonderfully cosy and aesthetically stunning escape from the realities of day-to-day life.
Beginning life over 100 years ago as a school shelter shed it later became Stuart’s ‘summer house’, with a compact kitchen. Here he entertained friends for long relaxed lunches and late afternoon drinks. In 2013 Stuart extended and transformed the area to accommodate a studio-office from where he could run his interior design business. No expense was spared in creating a spectacular space with French oak paneling and William Morris decor. A French artesan covered the walls in the entrance and sitting room with fabrics that matched the drapes.
Musk Studio is an anglophile haven with a cast-iron fireplace the centre-point of the sitting area. The three main rooms have large hexagonal shaped windows enclosing, and leading out to, a private pebbled courtyard. Beyond this, exclusively for Musk Studio guests, is the secluded Trellis Garden, dominated by an enormous blue cedar.
Guests staying at Musk Studio can nominate a two-hour timeframe in which they can explore the Musk Farm gardens comprising 15 different garden rooms.
Two day minimum stay. Guests also have a two hour window to explore the magnificent gardens of Musk Farm.
