The Kilmore Art Expo is one of the region's leading art exhibitions featuring hundreds of quality paintings, as well as photography and invited work in glass art, woodwork and jewellery. Total awards are valued at close to $6,000 and this attracts work by award winning artists from metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. All work is for sale.
A key feature of the weekend is the Opening Night and you are invited to attend from 6:30pm on Friday 12 April to enjoy exquisite art, live music, good company, drinks and canapes. Entry for opening night is $22.
Special awards for youth entries are featured and throughout the weekend there are artist demonstrations and special displays in and around the Exhibition Hall. The Expo Café will certainly please the most discerning visitor.
Kilmore is the oldest settled inland Victorian town and is only 50 minutes from Melbourne so is an easy commute for art and history lovers. Kilmore boasts many historic homes, buildings and gardens. Art and Roses Tours are available which include visiting the Kilmore Art Expo, Silkies Rose Farm at Clonbinane and one of Kilmore's inspiring Open Gardens.
