Spend half a day making a pair of sterling silver drop or stud earrings to take home and wear.
You will sit at a traditional jeweller’s bench and learn to use a range of tools including a jewellers' saw, files and soldering torch. You will also learn techniques including doming, texturing, polishing and finishing. We finish the class making shepherds hooks or earring posts, and learning to solder them.
You will also learn to use a rolling mill to emboss patterns into the sterling silver using leaves, lace, fabric, wire onion bags, mesh, feathers, leather or you can use one of our selection of patterned rolling plates.
At the end of this fun class, you will get to take home your pair of handmade sterling silver earrings. As this is a half day workshop, some people also choose to also attend the Lost Wax Ring Carving Workshop held in the afternoon following this workshop.
No previous experience necessary. All tools and materials (including sterling silver) are provided. Written instructions and afternoon tea are also included.
Workshop includes morning tea and all tools, equipment and sterling silver.
