Prepare to tantalise your tastebuds at the Mitchell Multicultural Festival on Friday 1st March 2019. As part of Cultural Diversity Week, Kilmore District Hospital, Mitchell Shire Council, FamilyCare and Victoria Police will host a free event at Hadfield Park in Wallan to showcase the municipality’s rich diversity.
The evening’s menu will include cuisines from across the globe, with dishes from India, South America, Spain and Sri Lankan just to name a few. There will also be live entertainment including multicultural dancers, performers and instrumental groups as well as African Drummers and Indigenous groups.
There will be plenty of activities for all ages including henna tattooing, face painting, jumping castle and more, with performers offering interactive workshops for attendees to take part and join in the fun.
The festival is coordinated and hosted by a collaborative group as part of the Mitchell Shire Social Justice Advisory Committee and has been funded by the Victorian Multicultural Commission/Multicultural Affairs and Social Cohesion division.
