In 2011, Caroline Bailey opened Woodend Wine Store in what was an historic Scotch oven bakery, tucked off the main road on tree lined Anslow Street, in sight of the old clock tower.
A curated collection of wine from independent old world European and new world Australian producers – with a local Macedon Ranges focus – an eclectic pantry of handmade produce, charcuterie, farmhouse cheeses – and local gin, small batch whiskies, microbrews, and ciders.
A veritable wine sage, Caroline had a storied life in wine at renowned restaurants, retailers, and wineries, before she made a tree change to Woodend, creating a welcoming space for anyone interested in engaging with wine.
Caz is like the great friend you always pass the wine list to at a restaurant. Great taste, well informed and able to break down the rules and jargon into sage wine advice.
