The Wombat Forest Wallaby Track Yogabout Getaway is ideal for those who want to escape from the city for a couple of days, who enjoy a walk that isn't too long, and want to improve their health and well being.
Over the weekend you will learn from an experienced yoga instructor techniques to quieten the mind, and be guided along two inspiring 8km and one 4km walk directly from your accommodation. Venture through a cutting on the long gone Creswick to Daylesford disused railway line where the walls rise imposingly to well over 20m as the cutting curves 1km through 500 million year old bedrock.
You will practice yoga daily, meditate, eat simple nutritious mostly organic food and stay at an authentic yoga ashram in the heart of Wombat State Forest, only 20 mins drive from Daylesford and 1 1/2 hr from Melbourne CBD.
Yoga practices will incorporate asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing), yoga nidra (relaxation), meditation, nada yoga (sound therapy - relaxing piano or sound bowls or didgeridoo), and forest bathing. Immerse yourself in nature become more aware of the sun filtering through the trees, sounds, the scent of gum trees, and the earth under your feet.

These two and three day nature-based retreats, located in the Daylesford area near Melbourne, Victoria, have been specially designed to improve your health and well being. Enjoy getting outdoors, breathing in fresh country air, relax, unwind, and find some inner peace and happiness.
The guided walks explore the historic Goldfields Track, local springs, lakes, state forests, regional and national parks.
You will have a choice of Getaways to suit your fitness level: short walks (less than 4km), medium walks (4 - 10km) and longer walks (10+ km).
Yoga classes are gentle and suitable to all levels from total beginners to advanced, and all body types including the over 50's.
Stay at an authentic Yoga Ashram nestled amongst the tall trees of Wombat Forest and have a glimpse of Ashram life. If staying on a Saturday experience a Havan (fire ceremony) for health and healing.
Calming Sound Therapy is provided through relaxing live piano, sound bowls or the didgeridoo.
To ensure an intimate personal experience, group sizes are limited to no more than 12 people.
