This three hour session will introduce you to the basic darkroom process which includes - the equipment used in the darkroom, how to expose light sensitive paper using translucent objects, how to make test strips to analyse tonal quality and finally chemical bath processing of your photogram print. In this experimental workshop, you will also draw inspiration from professional artists that produce photograms as part of their artistic process.
All darkroom materials are included (up to max of 10 sheets of 8”x10” photographic paper), with comprehensive handouts supplied. Bring along interesting translucent or opaque objects that are smaller than an A4 page (objects that are flat are much more successful).
This workshop is suitable for beginners who have never used a darkroom before and are keen to understand the basics.
