Fraser Island Retreat is located in the Gippsland Lakes, Victoria and is three kilometres west of Lakes Entrance Post Office. The island is 31 hectares in size and is nestled between Rigby and Flanagan Islands and easy to be reached by boat.
The island has its own jetty and a small airstrip. You may reach the nearby town, Lakes Entrance by air, train or car (about 320 kilometres away from Melbourne CBD).
Fraser Island offers accommodation in a wonderful 100-year-old homestead “Kawar” built on high ground with views of the surrounding Lakes. “Kawar” homestead has wide verandas with 11 bedrooms. These vary from twin single to family rooms with ensuites.
There is an open bunkhouse with a separate shower and toilet block. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with two gas stoves, large gas grill plate, refrigerators and freezers, with a separate laundry.
The dining room can accommodate more than 30 people. There is a separate covered barbecue area with gas hotplate, a small wood-fired pizza oven and a spit is also available.
Gazebo with a portable BBQ by the pool and tennis courts with an ice chest built into the bar.
Other facilities include a nine-hole golf course, bicycles, balls, gym, games room with table tennis, pool, minibar and air hockey, a small private beach suited for children and a solar power system.
The prices listed are per night at the Island. Minimum 2 nights stay. $2750 for public holidays/ long weekends per night.
