The iconic cycling event ‘The Tour of Gippsland powered by Warragul Toyota’ will take to the roads of picturesque south-eastern Victoria from 25-27 October. It will be held in three scenic Gippsland destinations: Stage One at Churchill (Friday), Stage Two at Newborough (Saturday), Stage Three at Warragul (Sunday). The challenging courses will include two Circuit races and a Criterium.
The Tour is one of the premier races on the Cycling Australia National Road Series calendar with a history dating back to the 1960s. Since the inclusion of a women’s race from 2017, this is now a race that all young riders can aspire to compete in.
The National Road Series is vital to ensuring the national developmental pathway and commercial evolution of the sport of cycling. It provides an important opportunity for riders who are striving to become full-fledged professional riders to compete alongside international stars.
There will be exciting public participation activities at each stage of The Tour including a community ride at Newborough and The Strzelecki Realty Gippsland Mile running race at Warragul.
This free event is a unique chance to see Australia’s best cyclists battle it out and visit the stunning Gippsland region at the same time.
