Authentic and unpretentious, Tomo Japanese Inverloch is every local’s dinner recommendation.
The menu is extensive, with miso and seaweed salad starters, followed by a delectable range of dumplings, tempura dishes including soft shell crab, sword fish and black tiger prawns.
Mains range from touban tofu cooked in a traditional hot pot, to chicken marinated in mirin and soy or crispy skin duck fillet in teriyaki sauce. Meat dishes include Japanese tender pork belly; lamb cutlets in a sweet sauce of mirin, soy and sake; and eye fillet on a bed of wasabi mash.
Relaxed and inviting, the restaurant is decorated with paintings by Japanese artist, Miho Araki, and offers up the ideal place to sip some sake and enjoy the quality Japanese fare that you did not expect to discover in Inverloch.
