The early stage is a flat ride past open farmland, then it's a challenging steady climb with views of the Strzelecki Ranges, the Loy Yang Power Station and open cut mine, and finish travelling through rainforest with giant mountain ash trees and fern gullies.

Note: This ride is quite challenging on the way there – uphill all the way – but that also means it is a nice downhill ride back to Traralgon if you choose to take a return trip. Take some walking shoes and make the most of one of the short walks in the national park
Getting there: Travel via Monash Freeway (M1) and Princes Highway (A1) to Traralgon approximately 165 km east of Melbourne. The ride starts at the Latrobe Visitor Information Centre next to the train station on the Princes Highway, where there is plenty of parking. Cross to the south side of the railway line and ride to Traralgon Creek Road (C483).
