Late in 2014, Alison opened a gallery and bookshop in the town of Fish Creek South Gippsland, not far from where Alison was born. Fish Creek is nestled in the middle of a landscape that inspired classics such as My Farm, Magic Beach and The Quicksand Pony. Nearby Waratah Bay is home to Noni the Pony.
The space is a dedicated 'Alison Lester' wonderland with over 70 different limited edition prints on display and available to buy, along with the rest of Alison's books. There is also a wide range of greeting cards and wrapping paper.
The gallery and bookshop also has a reading library for the kids, and the young at heart, where you can come in grab a book off the shelf, relax on one of the lounges or grab a cushion on the floor and share some of Alison's wonderful stories.
Discover examples of preliminary working drawings, sketches and displays of how Alison develops ideas and the process of turning those ideas into a picture book. Flick through a folio with lots of sketches from some of the earlier books such as Imagine, My Farm, Rosie Sips Spiders and Magic Beach.
