For a city renowned for its rich gold rush history and boom-style architecture, it is not surprising that Bendigo is experiencing a growing demand for heritage-style accommodation.
Helping to fill the demand for historic lodgings from a record-high number of domestic and international visitors, is The Residence - a grand, two-storey gothic-revival style building that has been lovingly transformed from a former deanery into a stunning boutique, five-bedroom holiday residence.
The Residence, which opened its doors in June 2015, is also filling a void for large, group-style accommodation in the former gold rush city. With five bedrooms, two modern bathrooms, a formal lounge, fully-equipped kitchen, multiple large, living spaces and landscaped gardens, the stately, yet inviting residence is perfect for both family and business groups.
The Residence has a two night minimum stay with each booking. Nightly rates start at $275 for two persons during the week and weekend rates start at $460 for two persons. Each additional person will cost $40 per night.
