Gallery 127, Avoca Railway Station, 13-15 York Avenue, Avoca, Victoria, 3467

Coloring the Land is an exhibition of watercolors by artist James McKay.

James grew up on a farm in Africa where he started painting with watercolour 35 years ago. He moved to make Australia his home in 1999 and immediately fell in love with the Australian landscape.

He has been exhibiting in galleries throughout Australia and Southern Africa for the last 15 years and has won a number of awards for his crisp and atmospheric paintings.

James has developed a distinctive style with his subtle use of light, shade and warm colours that produce evocative landscapes unique to Australia.

Presently living on the Gold Coast he has painted his way extensively around the country and continues to do so.

James shares his love of painting with others and teaches workshops locally and overseas.
