Slava and Leonard Grigoryan are justifiably regarded as Australia’s finest classical guitarists, with a repertoire spanning centuries, continents and genres, amazing telepathy and the ability to draw emotion from every note.
While their individual and combined artistry brings the music alive, they are forever grateful to those who have provided the framework for their performances. For this performance, they honour those past, present and future who have provided the fuel for their fire.
Past is represented by favourite works from previous recordings, from Bach to Towner, from Tchaikovsky to Lovelady. For Present, they play their own compositions and arrangements including a selection from the recent movie A Boy Called Sailboat. While for Future, they play pieces from their next recording project of Handel keyboard suites masterfully arranged for them by their father Edward.
