Ballarat will come alive with the sounds and colours of Jazz between Christmas and New Year, when as many as 1,000 musicians and delegates will attend the 72nd Annual Convention and play and enjoy music in programmed performances in eight venues in Ballarat’s CBD.
The convention commenced in 1946 and is the longest continually run event of its kind in the world. Although primarily a Jazz Musician Convention, visitors and lovers of jazz are welcome and encouraged to come enjoy the vast presentation of Jazz music on offer.
Over the period of the Convention, lovers of Jazz can participate, listen or simply enjoy the many components of the Convention, including the programmed performances, piano recitals, street parade, original tunes competition, workshops as well as a free public concert at Alfred Deakin Place.
Single day passes can be purchased for $30 either online, at Her Majesties Theatre or at the convention main information centre, located at the Mining Exchange, during the Convention.
Day passes are for performances 27 to 31 December.
