Songcraft with Justin Hayward

Eureka Centre, 102 Stawell Street South, Eureka, Victoria, 3350
01 Jul 2019

The story of the Eureka Stockade has been told in many ways - through history books, stories, films and songs, with reference to that tradition, during the school holidays they will present a children’s workshop at the Eureka Centre exploring the art of storytelling through song.

Ballarat’s Justin ‘Hap’ Hayward joins this winter at Eureka Centre to share his incredible knowledge of song writing through the Songcraft workshop. Best known as the lead singer and lyricist of The Dead Salesmen, Justin will introduce participating children to the art of song writing and performance. Through a collective workshop process, Justin will lead the budding musicians as they learn about rhyming, melody, song structure, rehearsal and performance.
