Twelve Apostles Lodge Walk

70 Stafford Road, Johanna, Victoria, 3238

The 12 Apostles Lodge Walk is a multi-day passage from Castle Cove to the Twelve Apostles, covering 40 kilometres through Great Otway and Port Campbell National Parks.

With an intimate group of no more than 10, head west through wetlands, across wild beaches, rocky headlands and through deep forested valleys. A knowledgeable eco-guide takes every step with you – sharing snippets about flora, shipwrecks or the rock shelf where dinosaurs roamed a primordial coastline.

Return from the trail each day to your private eco-lodge. Some three hours from Melbourne, this is where staff prepare healthy and nourishing meals. It is where rainforest showers await, foot spas blend well with local wine in hand and crisp sheets follow long table dinners.

So go on, let the Southern Ocean work its cleaning ways as your constant neighbour. Feel strangers become firm friends around the lodge fire over canapes. And over four days, experience the slow reveal of those mighty Apostles.

12 Apostles Lodge

The 12 Apostles Lodge is a forest-hugged refuge three hours from Melbourne. This is where the foot spa awaits, your live-in chef, rainforest showers, kitchen garden, dining room stocked with local wines, and your king bedroom with spacious en suite. The architecturally-designed lodge has been crafted with environmental sensitivity in mind. This translates to passive solar design, hydronic heating, low consumption electric and water fittings, on site waste water treatment and composting, plus a self-sufficient water supply. And there is reason this eco-development is award-winning, delivering modern comforts with equal rigour. Expect Myrtle and Moss toiletries, hair dryers, library, mobile coverage (Telstra only) and limited wireless internet. Five generous bedrooms can be converted to twin share or two single rooms depending on group requirements – all enjoying access to private en suite bathrooms. The dining room has a lounge area well-suited for canapes when the fire pit isn’t crackling with friend-huddling flames. After a glass of regional red, move to the long table for your nightly two-course regional menu. Onsite you will also find 24-hour tea and coffee facilities, gear drying room, daily newspapers and a lodge library well stocked with magazines, reference and fictional books.
