During the winter season Stirling Experience operate an Alpine Camp, situated at the Cricket Pitch, three kilometres from Telephone Box Junction at an elevation of 1500 metres.
The camp accommodates up to 28 people in seven spacious and well insulated four person tents. A large Tepee with solar lighting and a slow combustion wood stove with hot water provides a warm central community meals and meeting area.
Accommodation in the Alpine Camp can be booked in advance. Just bring your clothing, sleeping bag and food. Pre-packaged meals can be pre-ordered and delivered on the day of arrival to the camp if you prefer. Remember to allow time for the ski tour into camp and the return to Telephone Box Junction (one to three hours dependent on your ski or snowshoe skill and fitness level).
Accommodation tents may be booked individually at the rate of $150 per night. Each tent sleeps up to four people. Weekend bookings have a two night minimum preferred. Single night Saturdays are $175.
Accommodation tents are tall enough to stand up in and have a vestibule for equipment storage, together with stretchers, insulated underlay and warm fibre pile blankets for four persons in the main living compartment. A four-burner gas cook top, washing up facilities and water is provided in the guest shelter and composting toilets are adjacent to the Camp.
