Accredited SkyRuns are the steepest, roughest, highest mountain runs there are. Bright is a unique venue for SkyRunning and running in general, with trails connecting the centre of town directly to the high Alpine country in a way very few other Australian towns can do.
2019 will bring the Buffalo Stampede into its sixth year. Participants will head up to the iconic Mount Buffalo from the centre of Bright.
International Skyrunners from destinations around the globe attend this event, along with local entrants running their first trail runs ever. Each runner can choose their challenge by registering for the Ultra Skymarathon - 75 kilometres or Skymarathon - 42 kilometres or opt for the shorter but just as challenging courses in the SkyRun - 20 kilometres or SkySprint - 10 kilometres. Serious competitors can battle it out in the ultimate King of the Mountain Grand Slam Challenge by completing the SkyRun, SkyMarathon and Ultra SkyMarathon courses across the weekend. Kids can join in too, with Kids SkySprints around Bright.
