A delightful exhibition highlighting the Christopher Seater's, extraordinary sense of wit through a series of abstract, emotive caricatures of dogs and birds.
Melbourne Artist, Christopher Seater has been drawing and painting for as long as he can remember. He likes to explore character in whatever he sees, looking for the underlying essence of a subject. His technique is free flowing, abstract and chaotic.
In Birds, the 'free' painting technique gives them lightness indicative of themselves, a fleeting glimpse, the delightful, evasive, cautious whimsy of birds.
Dogs is about the purity of the unquestioning devoted companion received from dogs. These paintings are grubbier, more solid, like that feeling we get from our ragbag best friend, the mutt, who holds our affection and amusement with unconditional love and trust.
