Melbourne Art Class welcomes one of Australia’s most extraordinary abstract artists, David Palliser, to conduct a workshop series about working in abstraction.
The workshops will focus on the following: Colour using collage and paint mixing, positive and negative space as the starting point for an image, intuition, gesture and risk.
David has had over twenty solo exhibitions and his work has been acquired by collections such as the Australian National Gallery, National Gallery of Victoria, Artbank, and Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery. David has participated in numerous exhibitions, including Imagine, Heide Museum of Modern Art, 2006 and Melbourne Now, National Gallery of Victoria, 2013. David also attended a residency at Leipzig International Art Program, Germany in 2015.
Materials: All materials are included in the course fee. You will be using canvas paper during the course, however, if you would like to bring along a canvas, you are more than welcome to.
