Melbourne Yarn and Fibre Festival

Corner Bell Street and St Georges Road, Preston, Victoria, 3072
22 Sep 2018

Join in for a celebration of knitting, crochet and hand-spinning.

Crafters are taking over Darebin Arts Centre for a day of knitting, crocheting and basket weaving. The inaugural Melbourne Yarn and Fibre Festival kicks off at 10:00am, showcasing some of Victoria's top crafters and creative talents.

Crafting is good for the soul says Danielle of Raxor Yarns and Fibres. The fibre craft community in Melbourne is so generous, creative, and above all welcomes people from all walks of life. It's like a secret club, but everyone is invited - if a knitter spots another knitter, it's an instant connection, and can spark a friendship that lasts a lifetime.

With a curated craft market, workshops, and communal crafting space, the Melbourne Yarn and Fibre Festival is bringing Melburnians together for a fun day full of creativity, shopping, and skill sharing.

For those who want to find out what it is all about, Melbourne Yarn and Fibre Festival is offering a series of workshops. Learn about colour theory for textile projects, weave a basket, or crochet your own mittens.
