Debussy’s Suite Bergamasque contains arguably the most famous piano music written by the composer, Clair de lune and who better to lead the young musicians at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) than French Music expert Roy Howat.
Joining Howat is Timothy Young (ANAM’s Head of Piano) as ANAM continues a year-long project of performing the complete piano and chamber works of Claude Debussy to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of this influential and significant composer. Included in the concert is a newly-commissioned work by Australian composer Lyle Chan who has taken on completing the final three Sonata’s of Debussy’s incomplete ‘Six Sonates pour Divers Instruments’.
