The Australian Music Vault

100 St Kilda Road, Arts Centre Melbourne, Melbourne, Victoria, 3000

Created by Arts Centre Melbourne in collaboration with the music industry, the Australian Music Vault is a celebration of Australian contemporary music - its past, present and future.

The Australian Music Vault showcases the Australian music story with interactive and digital experiences. Marvel at iconic objects from the Australian Performing Arts Collection and immerse yourself in the engagement zones with interviews from musicians and promoters sharing their stories. Be transported to some of Australia’s most epic music moments and feel as if you were right there in our immersive experience, The Amplifier.

Designed to be organic and evolving, exhibition displays are refreshed regularly to provide a broad brushstroke of the Australian music story, while exploring specific rotating themes in more depth and detail.

Purchase an Australian Music Vault Mixtape card and curate your personalised Australian music playlist as you explore objects within the exhibition. When you leave, a Spotify playlist of your visit will be emailed to you.

The inaugural Australian Music Vault Patrons are promoter Michael Gudinski, music guru Ian 'Molly' Meldrum, Indigenous singer-songwriter Archie Roach, Melbourne's favourite diva, Kylie Minogue and songstress Tina Arena.
