Melbourne City Twilight Kayak Tour

Get up and close to yachts, ferries and ships while taking in views of Southbank and the city of Melbourne skyline. This kayak tour starts in the city centre, on the Yarra River, where you paddle into the city hub past the former Customs House, turning basin, historical ships, former waterfalls and 'Mission for Seafarers'.

View people in restaurants and bars eating and drinking. Historical commentary on the old docks area is provided along the way. The twilight tour includes the Crown Casino pyrotechnics display at dusk.

Paddling at twilight is a great way to unwind after work or other commitments. This tour is designed for people with little kayaking experience and who like to paddle in comfort without waves or sea spray. The tour is two and a half hours duration with two hours of paddling time.

Snacks and refreshments included. Group discount for ten or more people. Discounted pricing for children 12-15 years old is $80, must be in a double kayak with an adult.

Sea Kayak Australia was established in 1994 and is based in Melbourne. Sea Kayak Australia undertakes kayak tours, kayak courses, kayak hire and outdoor education for secondary schools around Victoria.

Sea kayaking is unique, adventurous and environmentally interactive. You get to see dolphins, seals and eagles at close quarters in a tranquil setting. It is a great way to see the countryside and experience something new.

Kayak hire is located close to the Yarra River in Abbotsford (Melbourne). Kayak hire is available all year round. You can paddle into the city from the hire location or take a leisurely paddle for a few hours.

All kayak tours include kayaking gear, sea kayak guide, historical commentary, drinks and gourmet lunch.

Half day tours are located in Melbourne city and St Kilda beach. Full day sea kayak tours are five hours duration (four hours paddling time) and are located at Sorrento and Phillip Island. Multi day tours are located at Wilsons Promontory.

Outdoor Education for schools is also another service Sea Kayak Australia provide. They specialise in expeditions located at Gippsland Lakes and Nooramunga Nature Reserve.
