St Kilda beach is the hub of Melbourne in spring and summer, so there is always a lot to see and experience.
After a gearing you up, adjusting your rudders and a safety talk, you jump on the water. The adventure begins with a paddle towards the St Kilda Pier and kiosk. This area is protected by a break water so there is lots of time to get used to your double kayak and develop your paddling skills. See penguins along the break water, people fishing and kite boards.
The group then ventures out beyond the break water and experiences small swell as they make their way up towards Port Melbourne. You get great views of Melbourne City, Williamstown and Port Melbourne as you paddle along.
Half way through the tour you stop at Middle Park for lunch. Gourmet rolls and a drink are provided on the beach. There is a chance to socialize with your fellow paddlers.
The group then paddles back to the start.
This tour is a sampler of what sea kayaking is like with out getting too tired and still having fun.
This is a 3.5 hour tour with 2.5 hours of paddling time.
