Auswalk Walking Holidays takes you to the High Plains which are located in North East Victoria and contain Victoria's highest mountains.
From the 1860's gold was discovered in the area. Even before then, graziers brought their cattle into the mountains to feed on the green summer pastures. You will see rough yards for holding mustered cattle, simple huts built by the cattlemen.
The Australian Alps National Park is covered in snow from late May to November, when winter snows melts it flows as fresh water into Australia's rivers. Highlights include the classic Razorback Ridge to Mount Feathertop, the second highest peak in Victoria.
Auswalk's Great Alpine Walk is a true alpine experience. Highlights include the classic Razorback Ridge to Mount Feathertop, the second highest peak in Victoria. The undulating ridge offers panoramic views all the way. From here the route continues down to the picturesque village of Harrietville.
Another "big tick" will be the walk from Hotham to Falls Creek via the Cobungra Valley, Derrick Hut and Dibbins Hut. The historic huts circuit walk will delight history buffs and remote Mount Tabletop is a favourite place to sit and ponder the beauty of the region.

The highlights of an Auswalk walking holiday go far beyond exploring the iconic landmarks that you are going to experience on the track.
Auswalk allows you to discover Australia's greatest landscapes in comfort. You will be carrying only a day pack as your luggage is transferred on to your next accommodation while you progress along the track. Arrive each evening to your next comfortable accommodation, ready to enjoy another display of the local produce. Rest assured that a wine list will also never be too far away.
On group guided trips you will travel with a group of like-minded people, accompanied by two professional guides allowing for the flexibility of easier and harder walk options.
For the ultimate adventure and flexibility Auswalk's self guided inn-to-inn trips allow you to walk any day in the season, with your own group of two or more people. You'll still enjoy their full support as you progress along the track from one accommodation to the next with luggage transfers, marked maps and detailed walk notes.
