Overview

Ascend to the highest viewpoint on the peninsula for breathtaking views over the lands of the Bunurong people, plus muddling mazes and stunning ornamental gardens.

Panoramic views

A walk up the 304-metre granite hill of Arthurs Seat is a peninsula ritual. Your reward today is an amazing view of golden beaches, Mornington and Bellarine peninsulas, and the twinkling glass towers of Melbourne, far across the bay.

For a bird's eye view over Port Phillip Bay climb aboard the Arthurs Seat Eagle, a state-of-the-art gondola which soars high above the trees.

A triple ascent on two wheels

Check the calendar and time your visit to coincide with the Jayco Herald Sun international cycling event. Watch as the peloton scales the short, sharp peak three gruelling times to end the fourth stage of Australia's oldest stage race. Stick around for post-race entertainment and check out the bike expo if you've been tempted to join the lycra set.

Scenic walks and stunning gardens

Enjoy a barbeque among the William Ricketts sculptures in Seawinds ornamental gardens before setting off on one of the many walking tracks through Arthurs Seat State Park. Prefer something a little longer? Try out the one-hour circuit walk to Kings Falls.

Lose yourself in the Enchanted Maze Garden and wander through its 20 themed gardens, admire the topiary and then relax with a slow picnic lunch among the artworks of the Sculpture Park Walk.
