Yarra Valley ECOSS is a not-for-profit membership association based on a 7.4 hectare former poultry farm.
ECOSS has adopted a community enterprise model to turn this property into a inspiring educational and recreational facility that will demonstrate sustainable living solutions for the community of the Yarra Valley and beyond.
The vision is to promote local food-security by developing appropriate models for food production, while building work skills and competencies, facilitating local employment and developing a vibrant, resilient and sustainable Yarra Valley community.
ECOSS also provides a hub for related local non-profits to hold meetings, activities and partner with on projects. Local groups ECOSS have partnered with include the Cire Services, Yarra Valley Bee Group, Warburton Environment, Upper Yarra Landcare, the Red Tent Collective, Ben’s Shed and numerous other local groups and businesses.
Attractions at ECOSS include the community garden, native and edibles nursery, indigenous reconciliation conversation fire pit, earthbag cubby, new classroom the coop, natural building centre, bio-dynamic market garden, school programs and more.
