The Ballarat Begonia Festival has a long and rich 67-year history, beginning in 1953, with now over 60,000 visitors enjoying the event over the March long weekend.
The festival program offers an array of exciting activities for both adults and children, involving the community in a healthy, free, outdoor nature experience.
This year's highlights include: celebrity guests Paul West - River Cottage Australia, dirtgirl - Get Grubby TV and Costa Georgiadis, Monday only - Gardening Australia, circus drop zone - an inter-generational entertainment space where visitors will also be able to learn new skills such as juggling or uni-cycling and see performances on a six metre high trapeze, obstacle course with ninja trainers, super sandpit, Pot-A-Plant activity with the BotaniKids, Begonia display in the conservatory, Begonia courtyard with The Forge Pizzeria, Begonia Bar with Red Duck Brewery, Cubby Haus Brewing, Kilderkin Distillery and Wightwick Wines and plenty of food outlets.
There will also be live entertainment on four music stages, Gardener's and Creative Designer's Markets, floral tram made from recycled plastic flowers and the Power FM Begonia Parade on Monday 11 March, along Wendouree Parade.
