Overview
Tempt your tastebuds with a fine selection of local produce such as freshly caught seafood, gourmet cheeses, scrumptious olives and luscious hand-picked berries.
World of cheese
Sample delicious local cheeses from selected producers such as Apostle Whey and Timboon. Visit Cheeseworld just outside Warrnambool, or the Timboon Railway Shed Distillery to pick up local cheeses and other regional fare. Pop into Birregurra Estate to pick up a jarful of olives to complete your cheeseboard lunch.
Fresh from the sea
Visit the local fishing cooperatives beside the wharfs at Apollo Bay, Port Campbell, Port Fairy and Portland and purchase fresh seafood from the daily catch. If you're visiting in February, be sure to join in the fun of the Apollo Bay Seafood Festival.
Basket of berries
Head inland and pick your own berries from farms near Colac, Gellibrand, Deans Marsh and Heywood. Some of the best berry-picking farms include Gentle Annie Berry Gardens and Pennyroyal Raspberries but be sure to check for the best season.
Seeking truffles
In June and July, celebrate truffle season with a truffle hunt at one of Victoria's oldest truffieres, Wongarra Farm. Beyond the farm, sniff out stalls selling truffles at Apollo Bay Farmers' Market.
