Yack and Back - Ride Republic E-MTB Half-Day Guided Tour

Yack and Back epic.

It connects the stunning goldfield towns of Beechworth and Yackandandah. The ride takes you through the heart of the Yackandandah goldfields and includes a variety of terrain and bushland. This e-mountain bike adventure and will take you around four to five hours. Allowing time to explore Yack.

With Yackandandah at the half way point you can stop and have a good look around this awesome little town and grab something to eat and drink at any of the cafés or bakeries before tackling the second half of the ride. You will be glad you are on an e-bike as you meander up the picturesque valley along Twist Creek Road and you will be really glad you are on an e-bike as the road gets steeper and steeper.

This ride is only available with a Ride Republic guide. The area between the two towns is remote, and through pine plantations, which can be confusing due to the similarity of the trees, the density of the plantings. Your guide prevents you from getting lost.

Also, with a guide you will also get to go some other spots only the locals know about.

A Tour Guide will help navigate the tour through the trails that connect the stunning goldfield towns of Beechworth and Yackandandah. It's the longest of Ride Republic E-Mountain bike adventures. It is a 4 hour adventure including a stop in Yackandandah for some refreshments. Lunch is provided Beechworth Brewery.

Days of operation:
  • This is a guided tour with a Ride Republic Concierge. This ride needs to be booked 24 hours in advance and requires basic - moderate level of fitness. The ride is 47.7 kilometres and will take up to four to five hours with time to stop and shop or refuel. Moderate fitness is required due to the varying terrain from fire trails and single tracks with 50 percent of the ride through pine plantations.

  • The Old Beechworth Gaol
    The Old Beechworth Gaol is one of Australia’s most significant post European cultural sites. Its role in the chain of events that led to the execution of Ned Kelly is significant as it housed Ned’s mother, Ellen Kelly, many of the Kelly sympathisers and Ned himself, alongside his brother Dan and the rest of the Kelly gang. Take a tour after your ride and learn all the history this beautiful site has to offer. You can book a tour as an extra and make a day trip out this ride.

The Ride Republic of North East Victoria is a cycling business based out of the Old Beechworth Gaol.

The Republic is the perfect place to start and finish all of your rides with plenty of room to park your bike, grab a quick coffee before you head off or refuel with a delicious selection of cakes and muffins.
