The track winds along a creek surrounded by lush ferns and a beautiful forest of tall trees with pretty bridges over creek crossings. The water in the creek is crystal clear and at times you can spot fish swimming, enjoying the quiet waters. There are beautiful wildflowers and interesting fungi to look out for, plus birds, bugs, lizards, butterflies and many other living creatures that keep popping up along the way. The highlight of this hike is a beautiful gem hidden deep in the lush forest, the Plain Creek Falls.

This trail is slightly undulating with some steeper ascents and descents, but only very short sections that any person of any fitness level can easily tackle. It is a great hike for families with children from about eight years old, however if your child is younger and you believe they can walk the distance, we are happy to have them along. There is a nice break at the waterfalls, so it breaks up the hike and gives their little legs a rest.
