Melt-in-your-mouth moments
Sugar, spice and everything nice… if sweet treats are your vice, these delectably rich desserts will have you dreaming about Melbourne's finest chefs from dusk till dawn.
Get excited for the menus of nine of Melbourne's most indulgent restaurants.
1. Tipo 00

The Italians were onto something when they combined two of our favourite things – coffee and chocolate. Throw in some creamy mascarpone for good measure and you've got the perfect solution for your sugar (and caffeine) cravings. Tipo 00 has perfected the tiramisu with its aptly named tipomisu. Spoon mouthfuls of the rich, soft-textured masterpiece into your mouth as the perfect finish to an Italian feast.
2. Cutler
This chic Gertrude Street dining room is the perfect spot for a cosy date night. Slip into a booth and feast on Cutler classics before ending the night with a couple of sweet delights from the curated dessert menu. Highlights include the apple confit with burnt butter ice cream, rich chocolate gateau, and delicate sable breton tart with raspberry and crème diplomate.
3. Supernormal

Asian fusion meets pastry chef genius at Supernormal, where the dessert menu features delicious seasonal treats like fig leaf granita and a refreshing raspberry and vanilla soft serve. Not to be missed is the peanut butter parfait, a sweet stalwart combining salted caramel with peanuts, which delights you more with every bite.
4. Entrecôte
Devour all of the French dessert classics at Entrecôte, from crème brûlée and Paris-Brest to a zingy lemon tart served with crème fraîche. For a special occasion, why not go all out and pre-order a lavish celebratory cake? Our pick would be the Bombe Alaska de La Maison – a frozen layered gateaux covered in meringue and flambéed tableside by your waiter for dramatic effect.
5. Pidapipó

A vast flavour landscape lies beneath the stainless steel covers at Pidapipó, a beloved Melbourne gelateria gifting exceptional frozen delights. Pop into one of four locations across Melbourne (CBD, Carlton, Fitzroy and Windsor) to try your dessert chilled and scooped atop a cone. It’s sheer delight, lick by lick.
6. Cecconi's
Head down Flinders Lane and set your sights on Cecconi's must-have soft-centred warm chocolate pudding with fior di latte gelato. Or for something both sweet and nutty, don't hesitate over the delicate, many-layered millefoglie in all its puff pastry, hazelnut diplomat and apricot jam glory.
7. Reine & La Rue

A true fine-dining gem, dessert is part of the experience at Reine & La Rue. After an evening of feasting on rich French fare, you might like to cleanse the palate with a refreshing frozen coconut meringue or creamy Jersey milk soft serve. Or keep the indulgence going with a dark chocolate and morello cherry mousse, go on – treat yourself.
8. Alimentari Goods
The goods store at Alimentari Smith Street is a treasure trove of sweet treats, cheeses, homewares and vintage pieces. Their fridge is always stocked with handmade cakes, all baked the old fashioned way. Think vintage-style tea cakes, tiramisu and fluffy sponge layered with fresh seasonal fruits. Wander in and grab a slice or order ahead for full-size celebration cakes.
9. Grill Americano

If you’re into tableside theatrics, Grill Americano’s iconic 'Tiramisu Americano' should be well and truly on your Melbourne dessert radar. Try your best not to drool on the table as this layered creation is scooped straight from a giant glass dish onto your plate. Chocolate lovers rejoice, as the culinary genius behind the restaurant's menu has also created the profiterole con nocciole – a delightful choux pastry doused in warm chocolate sauce.
