Werribee Open Range Zoo is excited to announce the return of its immersive after-hours wildlife experience, Sunset Safari.
The enchanting, must-see safari adventure gives visitors the chance to experience nature and the outdoors on the Zoo’s luminous open plains at sunset and will run from February 6 - April 3.
During the unforgettable evenings, visitors will learn about fighting wildlife extinction whilst in the presence of some of the world’s most iconic animals, including rhinoceros, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, lions and hippopotamus.
The special event includes:
Admission to a small-group safari bus and intimate experience with a Safari Guide; after-hours access to the sights, smells and sounds of the Zoo’s savannah, at a time of day where many animals tend to be most active; an authentic performance of drums, song and dance to the rhythm and soul of Africa and food package options of cocktails, canapés, a traditional African braai barbecue or à la carte dining.
Proceeds from Sunset Safari help Zoos Victoria support international conservation partner, Rhino Fund Uganda, in their efforts to save the Southern white rhino from extinction.
Sunset Safari is held from 5:30pm to 9pm every Saturday, including Valentines Day on Sunday 14th February.
Sunset Safari is operating with a COVIDSafe plan in place, visitor numbers are capped and all tickets must be pre-purchased online. Visit the website to book.
Entry to the special after-hours event costs $79 for adults and $49 for children. Food and drink packages are sold separately and can be pre-booked or purchased on the night.
