Headlined by hosting the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on International Women’s Day, Melbourne will see a series of blockbuster matches for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2020.
The newly redeveloped Junction Oval will host five Group Matches, including hosts Australia against arch-rivals New Zealand on March 2 in what will be both team’s last opportunity to push for a semi-final berth. The White Ferns will play three matches at the Junction Oval, including a clash against India on February 27.
The final at the MCG on 8 March 2020, International Women’s Day, presents Australia with the ground breaking opportunity to set a new world record for attendance at a women’s sporting event.
