The Australian Music Vault

100 St Kilda Road, Arts Centre Melbourne, Melbourne, Victoria, 3000

Arts Centre Melbourne has postponed welcoming visitors back to its venues following the recent changes to public health restrictions in Victoria. The ghost lights will stay on a little longer with scheduled reopening performances and events on hold. Please refer to the website for further information.

Created by Arts Centre Melbourne in collaboration with the music industry, the Australian Music Vault is a celebration of Australian contemporary music - its past, present and future.

The Australian Music Vault showcases the Australian music story with interactive and digital experiences. Marvel at iconic objects from the Australian Performing Arts Collection and immerse yourself in the engagement zones with interviews from musicians and promoters sharing their stories.

Discover the role of the trailblazers of the industry, explore the musical influences on the Australian ‘sound’, see costumes worn by international stars and unlock the stories of hip hop in Australia.

The Amplifier 360-degree immersive experience allows punters to feel, see, hear and interact with a rich tapestry of Australian music. Journey back to the sun-filled days of Sunbury, drop into a screaming audience at Countdown, the 2010 SLAM Rally, and dive into the heady world of triple j Unearthed; the engine room of contemporary Australian music.
