Old Melbourne Gaol

377 Russell Street, Melbourne, Victoria, 3000

Welcome to Melbourne's most feared destination: the Old Melbourne Gaol.

One of the city's oldest standing buildings and a place of more than 130 executions - including infamous bushranger Ned Kelly - step inside Melbourne's original home of crime since 1840, and discover the stories that never left.

Wander the 19th century stone cells and hallways of inmates past, brave an arresting experience in the infamous Watch House, or take a Night Tour to experience the Gaol in an eerily different light.

The Old Melbourne Gaol is a two minute walk from Melbourne Central Station. Or catch the free City Circle tram to stop number seven on the corner of La Trobe and Russell Streets.
