Tour highlights:
  • 12 Apostles, Great Ocean Road
The 12 Apostles are one of the most popular attractions along the Great Ocean Road. They are part of the Port Campbell National Park and located between Princetown and Peterbough. Whether seen from the air or land these rock stacks are truely an amazing site. These amazing rock stacks appear to rise out of the Southern Ocean. In fact they have been created from constant erosion of the limestone cliffs by the powerful action of the ocean's waves and blasting winds. Little by little caves are formed from the erosion and after many years of swirling action the caves eventually become arches which over time collapse leaving the rock stacks isolated from the shore. The power of the ocean and winds continues relentlessly so access near the 12 Apostles is now restricted. There are well set out paths and viewing platforms providing fantastic views along the coast in both directions.
  • Coonawarra Wine Region
The Coonawarra region is located about 375 kilometres south west of Adelaide close to the Victorian border. It is renowned for producing world class red wines especially Cabernet Sauvignon and its secret is the magical marriage of rich red terra rossa soil, limestone, pure underground water and a long cool ripening season for the grapes. Its a great wine area to visit as the wineries are all located close together basically along a 21 kilometre stretch of the main road.
  • Blue Lake
The Blue Lake is a large monomictic crater lake located in a dormant volcanic maar. During December to March, the lake turns to a vibrant cobalt blue colour, returning to a colder steel grey colour for April to November.
