World-class sailing action
The Festival of Sails in Geelong is the Southern Hemisphere’s largest annual keelboat regatta, drawing over 300 yachts and 3,000 competitors each year. With its origins dating back to 1844, this revered regatta is one of Australia's oldest sporting events and has evolved into the country’s premier keelboat competition.
In addition to the thrilling sailing races, the event features a free community Waterfront Festival. This lively celebration includes performances across multiple stages, a variety of food and drink stalls, live music, and entertainment from roving performers.
Visitors can explore art and craft market stalls, novelty shops, and a range of family-friendly activities. The festival takes place along the picturesque Geelong Waterfront and at the Royal Geelong Yacht Club.
The Festival of Sails offers a blend of exhilarating sailing action and fun-filled waterfront activities, making it an ideal way to enjoy quality time with family over the Australia Day long weekend.
